Whether navigating the Alps, cruising coastal routes, or exploring gravel trails, it’s all about finding scenic roads and creating unforgettable adventures.

My Motorcycles

Depending on the terrain and type of trip, I use different bikes – from classic singles to modern adventure tourers.

Owning several motorcycles offers flexibility – the right bike for every type of trip, terrain, and comfort level. Each has its own personality, showing how diverse motorcycle travel can be.

BMW R 1200 R

Year: 2013 – 90 Years of BMW Special Edition

Use: Touring on country roads and alpine passes

Setup: Luggage system, electronic suspension adjustment (ESA), heated grips

Highlights: The air-cooled boxer engine stands for authentic mechanics and pure riding feel. With its strong low-end torque and signature boxer shake, it delivers the classic BMW charm – perfect for long rides and winding alpine roads.

Moto Guzzi V85 TT

Year: 2022

Use: Adventure tourer for gravel and long-distance rides

Setup: Softbags, skid plate, crash bars, Heidenau K60 Ranger/Scout tires, Öhlins rear shock, Barkbuster handguards

Highlights: The transversely mounted V-twin delivers a unique, slightly offset Guzzi character – torquey from low revs, lively but never nervous. This blend of classic engineering and modern touring comfort makes it a charismatic and reliable companion for long adventures.

Suzuki DR Big 800 (SR43)

Year: 1994

Use: Classic and long-distance thumper

Setup: Luggage rack with hard panniers, crash bars – otherwise almost completely stock

Highlights: The DR 800 Big features the largest single-cylinder engine ever installed in a production motorcycle. Its raw and honest running character symbolizes pure adventure. The exceptional condition of this model makes it a true collector’s item and a piece of motorcycle travel history.

Honda Transalp XL 600 V

Year: 1992

Use: Robust all-rounder for off-road and everyday travel

Setup: Crash bars, pannier racks with soft bags

Highlights: The Transalp is legendary for its reliability and ease of maintenance. It just keeps running when others quit – ideal for those who value low-maintenance motorcycle travel with maximum relaxation.
